Tonight on The Android Show… we put all of the hype from this weeks ramp up to the Samsung/Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Galaxy Nexus announcement and shift to something much more serious. Last year in October we had our first fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen foundation and raised $1000 that was directly donated to them. This year, we up the ante and shooting for $1500 worth of donations to go straight to the charity.

Tonight we’re going to devote the entire show to auctioning off DONATED items with every single dollar being donated directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. We’ll be auctioning items off with reserve pricing through the entire show. Interspaced with commentary, thoughts, stories, and guests…

Speaking of guests, we’ll have two of the models from the Girls Of Geek calendar on the air tonight. We are very excited to welcome Sassi BoB and Kristen Nedopak to our show! From what I hear, they may have a few very special Girls Of Geek calendars to auction off!

The auction:

The live auction can be viewed at http://www.radioandroid.net/live starting at 7pm PST/10pm EST on Wednesday, October 19th. Every five minutes we will auction off one item leading up to the separate auctions of a TMobile HTC Sensation 4G and a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch. All items are new and in their original packaging unless otherwise noted. There will also be random bonus items included for free with some of the auctions.

To bid:
Items will be announced live on the air with a link to a product description in the chat and a starting reserve price will be set. The host, Scotty Brown, will ask for auction bids until there is no more bidding or the five minutes per item expires. Upon completion of your winning auction you must immediately use PayPal to send Scotty Brown a monetary GIFT in the amount of your auction to [email protected] If your winning bid is not received by the end of the show we will award your item to the next highest bidder or re-auction the item live on the air. Within 72-96 hours of receiving all of the winning bids, Radio Android will then make a donation on behalf of the Android community to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® using their komen.org website and post the confirmation in a recap article on AndroidActivist.org. There will be no additional charge for shipping and handling for any of the items.
