The SAT Essay Section is very much like other writing assignments more. It asks you to read a text, analyze it then write an answer to a specific prompt. It allows you to showcase your reading, analytical, and writing abilities, all of which are important for success in college or in the workplace. The Essay section can only be found in states that require it as part SAT School Day. Ask your school counselor if they will include the essay section if you intend to take the SAT in class.
